Wales Netball fully focused on building a sustainable future for the sport

The Dragons franchise is based in Wales and has been part of the Netball Super League since its inception. Dragons was founded by Wales Netball in 2005. As the only Welsh team in this prestigious league, the Dragons combine the finest players from all over Wales with a mix of international talent blended into the group.

The Dragons rebranded to Cardiff Dragons in October 2023 to reflect the home of the Dragons. Dragons train at Cardiff University, and will be playing home matches at multiple venues (lairs) this season. The Dragons lairs will be at House of Sport and Utilita Arena Cardiff. In October 2025 there was another rebrand to Dragons.

The franchise’s vision is to provide motivational role models that inspire young girls and women to participate in the sport of netball. Furthermore to be considered leaders in providing an exciting, inspirational sporting experience for all.
